HAS ANYONE been considering stem cells operation, to reboot the immune system? There is a Pirogovs clinic in Moscow thay does it, woth doctor Fedorenko, and Stemgenex clinic in California. I read a lot about it online, and it seems to be fake. I don't know if anyone from mymsteam has ever done it.
I recently watched an interesting BBC Panorama episode that covered the process of "rebooting" the immune system. They took stem cells from bone marrow, once obtained, chemotherapy is started to entirely suppress the immune system then the stem cells are reintroduced to the body. The half hour programme covered the success stories and it gave me hope for the process. However the process is obviously not without its risks and is currently going through a 2 year trial in Chicago, Río, Sheffield and Stockholm. Hopefully this trial goes well and we get to live in a world where MS can be treated and not just it's symptoms. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-35065905
Glad you are sharing your journey @A MyMSTeam Member. It will be interesting to follow. Good luck to you!
When I went to see my consultant on Tuesday he said that there were 20 people on the STEM CELL Research but they only showed you 4 of them so what happened to the other 16 go home & have a good think about it. I've tried to google it but nothing comes up about the other 16 people that were on the trial .
good luck!
Yes my MS nurse as put me forward to go on the stem Cell therapy trial I've got an appointment with my consultant next Tuesday & hopefully will get to see the specialist at Sheffield hospital
