I have had severe reactions to Copaxone and Tecfidera. I stopped taking them and seem to be doing OK. Does anyone have any natural medications that may be working for them or, like me, not taking anything but a positive attitude?
I was dx 4 and a half years ago and havent taken any meds yet. I take a bunch of suppliments instead. I was feeling amazing and even suprised my MS specialist with how well I was doing. I did stop about 6 months ago though and have felt horrible ever since. Considering Copaxone.
Grape seed extract, probiotic, alpha lopic acid, omega 3, ginko, evening primrose, calcium/ mag, bit B and vitamin D. And vit E.
After trial and error I found these worked well with me.
Be VERY careful with the natural route. There are some that are ok, but some actually influence your immune system and can turn it up causing attacks!! I was after any snake oil I could try to cure myself in the beginning... Thankfully my Neuro told me some were actually unsafe, and the others were just my paying for expensive tee-tee... Since some are water soluble and you just pee them out!! LOL Be extremely careful with zinc and echinacea.
I do not take any medication, natural or otherwise, either for my MS. I have a lot of side effects when taking any medication and feel it is not worth it. I find I if I avoid all grains and sugar, I feel the best. I am not perfect, but try to eat an anti-inflammatory diet and I do take 5,000 mg of Vitamin D and a probiotic. Good luck to you.
I would like to know too! I'm tired of taking pills morning, noon and night (even though they seem to be working), keeping the lights on at my local CVS, and giving half my piddly SSDI check to huge pharms.
I found out recently you can break down the lumps and scar tissue caused by shots by rolling a exercise ball over the areas, Much like the nurse does with an ice cube when you're having pain after a shot. My daughter told me if it's in the leg take the ball in my hand and roll it back and forth several times a day, just do it when you think about it. I have done it on my butt and back to relieve knots caused by spasms too. She's learned these things in the gym as well as now going to medical school. Just wanted to pass on a tid bit. Also I had my first Tysabri treatment. Had a bad headache, a pain pill didn't relieve it but a simple thing like a soft ice pack did the trick on the top of my head. Also met my new Neuro she was great, she told me the day before infusion HYDRATE like crazy and morning of HYDRATE drink as much water as you can stand and this can help in preventing even the headaches. Just wanted to pass it on.
