Plano, TX

Has anyone gone through a Functional Capacity Evaluation? What did you have to do and how long did it take? Thanks, everyone!

As I recall, it involves simple questions like 'Who is our President, are you married, where do you live' etc...I think this is the therapists way of trying to determine if you are able to think clearly and able to focus on various kinds of questions. I think the test took about an hour, but could go longer depending on how you respond. Don't be nervous, sleep well the night before and be positive.

Yes I have. They do memory testing, function testing, coordination testing and memory testing. It took about 2 hours if I'm not mistaken.

I think the neuro I had before made me do it when I came in for something else...I found it very frustrating and unnecessary. He gave me tasks on paper, etc. I came in for a follow up and was in agony instead they made we walk a long time, times me and they did some weird test on paper which was times. I had no mistakes. but it was torture bc I needed relief from my burning legs and my cognition was not affected. I don't know what to tell you. I hope you feel well enough to do it.

I agree with KimmySue and Robyn. Matter of fact, I just took one about 3 weeks ago. It wasn't bad at all but it took 3 hours to do.
