Has anyone with ms went on to develop diabetes. I've just been diagnosed with type 1 after being ill for weeks and have been finding things on Internet linking both conditions. Hope your all having a good day x
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 13 years ago and RRMS 5 years ago
I had type 1 then 20yrs later got ms
Yes, after I started a DMD I became type II. Copaxone seems to make my blood sugar worse. I have tried it twice now and will not do it again.
I am a type 1 diabetic on an insulin pump, have been type 1 for 20+ years and I have recently been diagnosed with RMS. I am trying to do research if there has been a link to these two illnesses.
I have type ll diabetes and became that way shortly after starting MS therapy. I don't think the copaxone caused it but I believe whole heartily it acted as a catalyst. This diabetes runs maternally and paternally for me and three of my four pregnacies were gestational diabetes so I figured it was coming. I was off the copaxone for awhile and my numbers were good. As soon as I was back on it, they sky rocketed. - I have heard that it is not uncommon for a person with an autoimmune disorder such as MS to have another autoimmune disorder.
