Yes, 15% of rrms patients will not have their disease progress into SPMS. Therefor all claims that a procedure can stop progression needs to be clinically studied to exclude the possibility that your disease merely stopped.

As well, most dmd's out there for rrms do nothing in dealing with progression they are 'catch all' drugs that can be used for multiple diseases that may have similar symptoms. They do jack shi for the disease. Although, Progression HAS been slowed down with drugs that kill off the b cells those catch all drugs kill the t cells, but remember, they do shi for addressing the disease. Therefor, both t AND b cells DO NOT need to be killed off, just the b if you want to address the disease. Stem cell therapy will tell you they kill both b and t cells. But they will not answer if the chemo is strong enough to kill off the stem cells hiding in your bone marrow. Only high dose therapy will do that. There has been several complications with infections in the brain (cuz we got lesions there) and high dose chemotherapy. If the stem cells in the marrow are not killed off, then you'll just go back to the same stem cells you had b4 you got the procedure, hence, scam.

I know 2 people that have done just the stem cells. Both went to California & then were driven down to Mexico. It helped the 1st person feel better about 6 months & then slowly all the symptoms came back. The 2nd also felt better but got the symptoms back in about 3 months. My wife's beutician's brother went to Chicago & he is doing real good. 4 1/2 months after he's back to driving a tractor trailer. I think chemo is the way to go.

Yes but the stem cells do not have any memory at all. And if you extract millions of stem cells and then wipe out all the cells, you will start new. You then reintroduce the stem cells that were collected in the 1st place to rebuild the immune system. That's why the call it a reboot of the immune system. These cells live in the blood stream, a neurologist is a nerve doctor. It should be a hematologist. My thoughts.

There are several different types of 'stem cells' .. All real studied I have found conducted on this procedure show a 5-6 month time of no relapses. All claims of it stopping progression or curing your MS are unfounded.

Whenever I asked one of these advocates for hsct, they always tell me to look at someone else's website or something.

Think, your Dr needed physical proof that you have this disease. Look for physical proof that it has worked, specially if you're gonna drop $100k.
