I don't answer much, but this site has helped me get to a good place physcologically.
Yes, sadly not only in the MS community but with many patients facing painful and debilitating illnesses frequently turn to alcohol and or drugs as a means of coping. Unfortunately, this often leads to addiction as self medicating is not prescribed and not regulated and frequently toxic to the system or exacerbates pre-existing symptoms. Especially a bad idea when already taking prescribed medications.
I have heard that the suicide rate among males with MS is especially high compared to the general population. Thank goodness for sites like this where we are able to turn to others to support and guide us through our experience.
Live each day as it is your last. One day you will be right.
Double thumbs up momo!
I'm embarrassed to say, I was that
last time I looked at my body there was no expires date on it. and note due to skin cancer past I get checked head to toe by a dr. I asked if there was one found she lol said no. so never plan for death date that is a true unknown, but we are all mortal. just live love life every morning. the great George Burns once said He wakes up before he opens his eyes if he doesn't smell flowers, it is safe to get up.
