Yes, MS can cause hot flashes. I have broken out in profuse sweating for no apparent reason, at times only on one side of my face. I often compare our nervous system to the wiring harness on an automobile, a system of circuits, sensors, switches, regulators, etc. that control current for the purpose of activating, deactivating, or maintaining response of a particular unit such as a light, starter, pump, etc. Within our nervous system is the Autonomic nervous system. This system causes our body to make involuntary adjustments to things like chemical balance in our cells, blood pressure, heart rate, blood glucose, and so on. It keeps us normal. Within the Autonomic system is the Sympathetic nervous system, with one of its functions being body temperature regulation. When we have MS, the Myelin, which I compare to the insulation on a wire, becomes damaged by our immune system. This damage can result in our Sympathetic nervous system becoming over sensitive to temperature changes around us resulting in sweating, for example. It could even be due to food or medicine among other things. I hope I haven't dragged this answer out to the point of boredom or being a "know-it-all. When I had my second flare 25 yrs. ago a the Neuro I saw said he couldn't say it was MS, but if it was I will experience more strange bodily reactions than I could ever dream of. Unfortunately hot flashes is part of MS.

I've done that too everyone ask me if I can feel the cold cause I'm there without a coat......

Hot flashes are very much an MS thing... I have them to a point where I feel nauseous... My husband will buy me a Cooling towel at Lee Valley..
