I don't know how to ask this, could you have a mini stroke without going to the hospital for a diagnosis, or would you know for sure you are having one and just don't go to the hospital? I'm sorry I can't articulate it better
Please call your Neurologist office and at least tell them, your Dr or NP will probably want to see you. Your Neurologist will be able to tell you what's going on. A while a go, only one side of my face went numb, and I wondered if it was a stroke, I did the smile test, that is checked ng your mouth to see if it's equal on both sides when you smile. And it was, so I believe it was MS related. if it was part of your body that's not functioning, you may benifit from steroids. Can you drive to your Dr appointment without your family going or knowing? Your family doesn't sound supportive. maybe if one of them goes with you and meets your Neurologist they will understand what's going on. I wish lived closer, I would get you there. Please go and get it checked out!
I really don't recommend going to ER, they can rule out if you had a stroke but they are really not effective with treating symptoms of MS, unless your Neurologist office is part of the Hospital. Call your Neurologist and ask them what you should do!
Sending you positive thoughts and Hugs! xx
You are welcome hunney we all care on here there is always someone to take to take care of yourself and remember you are number one x
Anytime there is a question about a stroke, always go to the hospital. Time is brain.
Im waiting for an appointment for an mri, it takes awhile unfortunately
Please go to your neurologist or nurse practioner. You can have a TIA that clears up quickly with no damage. TIA's are warnings, please don't ignore. Doctor will probably order radiology (MRI) which can show.
