I was wondering if any of the women experience hair thinning due to the MS??
My hair dresser asked me as my hair is thinning but my doctor says thyroid and hormones are good.
My hair has not thinned but actually came out. My neuro doctor sent me to a dermatologist that is on her team. After her examination and sending me for lab work, we discovered my iron was super low. Iron should range from 20-288. Mine was 42.... super low. She has me on iron twice a day and medication to place on my scalp where my hair is missing. I've been doing it for 2.5 months now and it is definitely growing back. I have to do this for 3 more months. I'm excited and can't wait until all of my hair comes back......
My hair person was looking at my hair It looks like someone on Chemo which told her no just MS(copaxone) drugs she felt that was probably the reason. Strange how people from different backgrounds can help us MS'ers.
Yes , I have noticed more hair loss when washing my hair , I don't know if it's the meds , or just hormone imbalances , my TSH has been at a borderline hyperthyroidism level a few times but goes back to normal , and it may be hormone changes , I'm 46 so I know it's coming haha.
I am having hair thinning. It is one of the side effects of Aubagio. I am in month 7 of this med. Hoping is slows down soon as it is a bit shocking seeing handfuls of hair on shower and bathroom floor. I have been told most people on this drug have hair thinning but it usually stops months 6-8. Fingers crossed!
My hair is thinning, but I think it's an age thing, unfortunately.
