Mt wife has severe bladder issues her uroligist has mentioned botox for her bladder has anyone heard of this
@A MyMSTeam Member how long have you had the interstim? I had it previously and it only worked for about a year for me. @A MyMSTeam Member yes and no on the retention/cathing. The first time I had it, I didn't have to Cath (I had always refused to even with the retention). 2nd time I couldn't go at all so I had no choice and have just continued 2-3x a day when I realized how nice it was to start the day/go to bed with an empty
Bladder.
Yes. My urogynecologist does that. I, personally, have never had Botox, because I have a Medtronic Interstim for bladder issues. Botox is a common drug for many kinds of spasticity--bladder or skeletal muscle.
I just had it done. I also had another procedure down at the same time something plastik ( sorry can't remember the name of it) anyway, now I have the opposite problem and had to learn to self catherize myself to fully empty my bladder. Its not permanent and will eventually wear off then i get to decide if i want to have the procedure again.
@A MyMSTeam Member My Interstim is working OK but my urogynecologist says that if it doesn't, the Medtronic people can meet me in the office and do some reprogramming. I have only had mine since December.
Best thing ever! Total life changer for me.
