Thanks for the advice but, I forgot to tell you that I had this out break 3-4 years ago. Yes the antiviral med is important, but i didn't even know I had the rash because it was on my back, near my lower spine. I wasn't until I told my wife, hey look at my back. I rushed to the emergency because i was on a new med, Gileneya ( that stuff was invented by the devil. I have not recovered since then. I have been in constant pain. I take 1800 mg a day. Been doing this for almost 4 years along with my rebif 3 times a week. Yep. I know the shingles, yes I know MS, and yes I know nerve pain, and yes I know MS, DXed in 2002,,

Hope you get better soon. Just a little note: dont place ice directly on skin ,it should be wrapped in towel or plastic

I'm sorry to hear you have shingles. I've had it twice... Something I've started using recently for nerve pain in general is pure magnesium oil. You spray it directly on the affected area and then massage it in. I found the magnesium oil at a health food store. Its suppose to help with nerve pain. But definitely call you dr asap to get the antiviral drugs... It can make a huge difference. Hope you recover quickly.
