I have lost humour towards everything. I don't care anymore about anything. Have no emotional, mental or hysical drive to do anything.
I have no interest in anything, been looking and nothing strikes interest at all, even things I use to like that are not physical and not much mind power, now bore me.
Anyone else get this?

Members responded with deep empathy to a question about losing humor, drive, and interest in life with MS, with many sharing that they had felt the exact same way. Several members described MS-related depression as both an emotional and physical reality caused by nerve damage in the brain, and many shared their experiences with antidepressants like Prozac, Cymbalta, and Citalopram, while others explored counseling, acupuncture, or exercise as helpful alternatives. A recurring theme was the importance of taking things one day at a time, talking openly with doctors, and leaning on the community for support.

Dear Charlie try not to lose hope I know you will probably think I'm crazy but what you are feeling is all part of the journey. Your story sounds so familiar to me for I have felt so many of the things that you have experienced. It takes time to allow things to sink in and know that you have MS. Now what? What can you do to make it go away ,be the person you were before, accept what you have. Its not a cold, or the Flu or a headache Its MS Now your journey begins. One day at a time. That's what I had to do in order to accept what was happening to me. You have joined a wonderful group of people that understand and CARE. Let us help as much as we can.We have your Back! Remain strong and positive Youve Got This๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’

It is really hard... I have been there and the good news is that there is hope. Lots of us with MS suffer from depression that is tied into our MS. The damage that is done to the nerve connections in our brains creates a literal physical manifestation of depression (I don't totally buy the just pick yourself up thing, its not that simple, it truly is chemistry). Talk to your neuro and see if they are willing to give you something to take the edge off (prozac and cymbalta have worked for me).... other thing that I've seen work for people (myself included) is acupuncture. Not sure if it was just a placebo effect, but seemed to help

Thanks all for the input.
It's me finally opening up, normally keep it in and deal with it, no matter the issue. My coldness comes out & sounds like a personal problem. Typical male, lol. I'm working on all aspects of the new me and it's overwhelmingly at times. Thanks for the ear!

Hi Charlie. I think we all get like this at times. We all have some depression at times. It is how we handle it. Anti-depressants can help, but takes a bit of time before they work. You must find a path to get through this. Fight through this. Concentrate on one thing and go from there.

Never Give Up, Never Surrender
