I know it says that anxiety is a symptom of MS but I was wondering if anyone had any specific idea of how their MS has changed their mental state? Besides the whole stressing over being sick.

I have found that making sure I take a multi vitamin has helped. That may sound silly, but for me it made sense to be very careful about making sure my body received everything it needed every day. I found a change int he depth of my depression when I started this. I also take Vitamin D. I have battled depression for many years, due to family trauma, etc. but the "normal" things to trat it had stopped working. I got the MS diagnosis, and started on the mulit and D. It seems to help. There is still the occasional "fog" that sets in. On those days, I work hard to only try to do things that are very familiar daily tasks. I don't go anywhere other than work and home,I don't cook for fear I will forget something on the stove, etc. The stress right after diagnosis, of being concerned that every muscle twitch, misstep, or act of clumsiness is a sign of a flare up or deterioration was horrible. That mental strain relaxed with time and knowledge. I have gone back to my anti depressant but only an extremely minimal dose, due to family issues, I was starting with anxiety attacks. I am going to try to quit it again now that things are settling down. I hope this gives you some info that helps. Take care!

I have lesions on the part of the brain that controls my emotions. I have depression and anxiety. Also my neurologist requires that I see a psychiatrist. In order to be in her practice. I agree

My depression fluctuates. ..if I don't sleep for a couple of days then I'm worse. I have been with the mental health team two years ago and I think it's time to say hello again 😕
