Hello everyone, this is my 4 uti with in couple months- I seen a urologist today going to get a ultrasound and have to do two tests next month. They put me on antibiotics now and told me to try cranberry supliments (over the counter) wanted to know if anyone else has issues Etc with pressure, frequent uriantion- which is the worst!!
@A MyMSTeam Member. Yes you are right. It is a degrading test. I feel like I've been so exposed but I was glad to get the information. Part of my ability to get through things is thinking about what I've had to do for people when I was a nurse.going through all this made me realize that everyone views experiences differently. After 30 yrs of nursing I learned quite a bit about empathy and humility. Hope you're all done with your testing!
@A MyMSTeam Member. You're urologist should do a baseline urodynamic study on you. Maybe you're retaining urine. It's simple test but takes some time, maybe 1-2 hours. But it tells a lot about bladder function.
A couple things to do whenever possible (shower most preferred) squat down to fully empty.. sometimes we don't have enough muscle pressure to fully empty..i have had many utis in my past and frequency goes along with them the sensation of needing to go isn't necessarily communicationg right.. unfortunately now, I have the opposite. In Jan I kept thinking I had an uti..(That burn is unmistakable) I went to a urologist and no uti...they did a bladder test(I forgot what it's called) and I have an under active bladder. My sensation just does not hit until Really full. However, it would feel as though i were leaking?? (Messed up signals for sure) My Neuro put me on a steroid taper to help control permanent damage with my now neurogenic bladder and that did help after a while. I must now time myself. Hang in there, get your tests done. If you know what you are dealing with then you can get ahead of it per say..cranberry juice is very helpful along with probiotics.I'm sorry you are going through this. Not an easy subject.
Yup! Uti's, leaking, frequency and not feeling like I was emptying my bladder. I had urinary retention due to neurogenic bladder. I've been self catheterizing 4X day for 12 years. You'd get the hang of it. It makes a big difference because your urinary system will no longer rule your life.
I am, I am experiencing extreme urgency to urinate along with frequency and a little leakage at times. My doctor prescribed me Oxybutynin and my MS support nurse helped me get a universal key to disabled toilets across the uk. I also uploaded an app on my phone that shows you the nearest public convience to where I am. At work I have moved desks to be closer to the ladies. All helping but, 3weeks ago I got caught up in a massive traffic jam following an accident and the result was not pleasant. It is one of things I am finding harder to deal with - it's s pride thing I know!!
