Does anybody else experience this and is it common in MS? I don't have a UTI; I checked using an over the counter test. No burning or anything else. It has only been going on for about two weeks.

Members responded with great empathy and shared their personal experiences with MS-related bladder issues like frequency, hesitancy, and incomplete emptying, confirming it is a very common MS symptom sometimes called neurogenic bladder. Several members recommended seeing a urologist, with many finding real relief through medications like Oxybutynin, Vesicare, and Nortriptyline, while others shared that intermittent self-catheterization, though intimidating at first, made a huge difference in preventing UTIs and accidents. A recurring theme was that small practical tips, like leaning forward after voiding, drinking more water, and staying relaxed, can also help manage daily bladder challenges.

Was given a tip from one of my health care providers that I have found helpful too minimize and or prevent developing having a UTI from fluids remaining in the bladder. For women , after first voiding the bladder remain seated and lean forward and remain in the position to a minute than try voiding again. This might have to be repeated once or twice This tactic helps to completely empty the bladder. Have found this very effective to completely empty the bladder.

Went to a urologist a month ago and he gave me vesicare for all the problems you named...gave me back my life night and day! Only once a day and a 5 mg tablet...I'm impressed!

I thought I would have to self-cath, then went to Urologist who put me on a med to control bladder-spasms. It REALLY helped me!

Thank you Love2Cruise and CoolLioness. I sit for a couple min after I go (when at home, anyway) and breath out SLOWLY thru "pursed lips" so I can relax and get that "last dribble".

Yes it's called Neurogenic bladder. I see a urologist. For me I never know I have a UTI until I have foul smelling urine :-/ the nerves don't transmit the pain/burning like they used to. There are tests the urologist can run to help to see what the exact issue is.
