My husband works hard to support us, and saving money for college has been tough. I can't work to help out. I'm just wondering if there is any help for children with sick parents

I could not get my student loans approved ! I tried years ago , they are paid and done but yes I couldn't work and my husband had to pay my loans :( thank goodness Obama did help with loan forgiveness issues in the past terms. I fear for the future !

@A MyMSTeam Member That's so not fair and ridiculous; there aren't any jobs that just answer a phone. On your application did you include every single problem that you have? Your main reason is MS, but why are you not able to work? What exactly keeps you from being able to do it? What did you put on your application when you tried to get disability? I don't understand why anyone would say something like that to you.

@A MyMSTeam Member So, you've been declined by Social Security for disability after submitting the application? Who told you that you looked too healthy should be talked to by their supervisor and told it's not their place to judge how you feel! You shouldn't have to argue with anyone.

Tell me exactly what steps you took to apply for Social Security disability. Was it after you filled out the application online and they needed more details from you at a face to face appointment when this occurred? Did you ask to speak to that person's supervisor after comment was made? If it were me and that happened, I'd be madder than a hornet and not accept what they said; stay calm and ask to see the manager. Make sure this person didn't handle my claim because they were biased.

I went into the Social Security office to apply because I had all kinds of paperwork to give them that went with my application; such MRI results, CSF fluid results, chart notes and a 4-page explanation of all the reasons I should qualify for Social Security disability. I was so exhausted by the end of that appointment but I felt good because I knew they had everything and it was entered into the computer correctly.

I hear that the MS society may give out scholarships to family's who may need assistants for collage.

@A MyMSTeam Member I mentioned it since I was giving ideas for where to find possible funds to help you pay for college for your daughter. Are you still going to school?
