Hello, I am on short term disability (due to my ms) in OCT I will be on long term. I work at a hospital so it will roll over after 6 months to long term. What's the process of getting SSD when should I apply and where? How long does it take.. also what does that entail insurance or am I better off with keeping from hospital if I can? @A MyMSTeam Member I did my own as well. I was approved first time. I'm an RN and probably blew their mind with the detailed documentation.
@disability, I did all the paperwork myself and was approved right away for disability. I also had short term disablity from the hospital I worked for and it not effect SSD in any way.🙋💐
@A MyMSTeam Member. I was just approved yesterday after 21/2 yrs. I had representation from the start. (Allsup) because I didnt want the hassle of the paperwork which they made extremely easy.
Denied 3times and went before the judge yesterday and she told me she waddling in my favor right there on the spot!
I say start the process now if you can.

Im into over a year applying fir disability... and a lawyer, and 3 appeals. If you chose that route and are denied, appeal, appeal, appeal! Also, even though lawyers will take a portion of retro pay, its still better to have one. In my case, i was often to ill to fight and missed deadlines. Lawyers will do it for you. It really is criminal that those who need it cant. PROVE your sick enough, but if your too sick for the barrage of paperwork, too bad. You loose.
