How long after switching medicine should I wait before I start asking for a new injection medicine?
I just started taking avonex injection in March and it's September now.
My question is should I ask to start new medicine or wait longer to see how it works for me?
I take avonex once a week every Friday and so far I'm still having problems walking even with my walker do I talk to my neurologist about this?
I had been using Capaxone for around 4 years and nothing improved. Now that I'm on gilenya things are slowly going in my favour 😇
Was on Beta for 10+ years. Different neuro put me on gylena.
That's when I had a exacerbation! Been on copaxione for 1 year now. No complaints! Once a year, I have a CT scan and an MRI to see if new lesions have developed.
I was on Avonex when I was first diagnosed then after about three years I stopped it because I was losing the ability to concentrate and was having headaches.
I'd talk with your doc. I had flares with Avonex as well as problems with the side effects so after about 5 years switched. Also, you may do better with Rebif - -same med, but more and more frequent (less painful) injections. It could be you need the dosage spread out rather than all at once.
