@A MyMSTeam Member, as it was explained to me an exacerbation is a new symptom, or area affected. That being said, don't forget just because we have MS does not mean we may not get something else.

The MRI is the only way the specialist knows if you are having a realapase , I had an Mri a month ago , on my spine the leisons had healed however on my brain I have new ones
The fact the spinal ones were recovering that's how the doc. New it was relapsing remitting xxx
I have never had a "relapse" or "flare up" or "exacerbation" that I am aware of but I do have brain and spinal lesions (I think it's just one on the C-spine) so it's interesting all the variations.
