I noticed a comment on Vitamin D3 and how much they were talking. I have had the blood test for D3 a couple times, and each time i was at the bottom of the scale. Mind you i am outside as much as i can be, summer or winter. Even with that in mind, I take a total of just over 17000 units of D3 just to get me up to the bottom of the D3 scale. It doesn't matter if it's summer or winter, results are within 2 points. Now is anyone else on a high dose of D3?
My doc prescribed me 2000 units per day of D3 and I have noticed that I'm not getting as sick as I used to.
@A MyMSTeam Member Black - Yes, I'm actually on my 2nd round of high dose Vit. D. I take it once a week and its 50,000 mg. I was only given 4 pills at a time. I'm on my 2nd set of 4 pills because when I did my last labs about a month ago, my numbers had barely gone up. So, I'll finish this month's. Then, I go back to the Hematologist for blood work.
I can't stand being out in the sun. However, I'm trying to do a lil bit better. Making sure to try to do 10 minutes or so outside a day, if I feel up to it.
Funny! Me too! Everyone should take this! ❤️
I have had 6 doctors with various specialties all state that my level is low enough that all the possible problems should not occur. I have been taking this amount for 2 years or more now. We just cannot get my level up to a decent level. Healthy is around 100, but mine with taking that much and being out in the sun tops out at 56, without the supliment I average 5-13. With higher levels, i seldom get sick, without i always have a cold or some type of infection. I still get ear infections, but I haven't had the flu for 7 or so years.
Best healthy target goal i have read about was 65 to 100. But D3 does a lot for our health. So i guess it is a to each their own. I honestly like not getting sick and not catching everything everyone else gets
