This is my second month giving myself copaxone and I get lumps that last sometimes 5 days, I had redness & itching appear 2 days after the injection, happened once...I use the autoject which helps me...I am very thin so that is am issue also..I am a nurse ,but its hard to give ur own injections....any pointers??
You will have lumps, itchiness and redness after giving the injection. I lumps will go away after a few days along with the other symptoms. I always inject after a shower so that my skin is still warm. It does help to use an ice pack afterwards along with some hydrocortisone cream. I hope this helps
I am not on it anymore, but I had the same problem with lack of fat in the areas we inject (too bad I couldn't do inner thighs :) I always used a heating pad right before, and an ice pack right after. I also massaged the area the next day which seemed to help.
I had the same results at first. When I stopped using the injector it was sooooooooooooo much better. Just inject it in slowly. That makes a big difference.
There is areas i can not reach without the autoject, such as hips & arms...I am a nurse ,but when u give a shot to yourself its not easy.
Thanks for the tip
I've been on Copaxone for 6 months now as well and it does the same too me. My doctor told me too apply anti-itch cream too the area 24hrs after, which Is the next day. Also, you could be injecting into a muscle or vein so try and be very careful where you inject- and try not too inject in the same area.
