I have had aching thighs for the past couple weeks, with some spasms in my calves. Ive done nothing to cause this. I literally do nothing! Just some light activity around the house. Why does this happen? Is it because our muscles have to work harder? Or disease progression? I have tried light exercise and stretching but it makes the pain worse.
Are you lying in bed? Are you having leg cramps? It happens more when your muscles are in their shortest position like pointing your toes will make your calves cramp more than if you flex your toes.
No nutritional deficiency has been tied to cramps with exercise, even though many athletes have tried to claim its their calvium, potassium, magnesium etc. low iron inveneral can increase the risk.
A folk remedy that has stood up in some small trials is using mustard to relieve and prevent cramps. Proper hydration is also always mentioned.
Not sure if this helps.
Good luck.

As silly as it sounds Mustard does help but you have to make sure it has Tumeric as one of its ingredients. I take a TBSP and if that doesn't work I take a second one. It works almost immediately and relieves the cramp. If my legs are feeling bad through the day I will take it before I go to bed at night and never have a cramp. It works and is very inexpensive.
