My general dr did some blood work and is mow sending me to a Rheumtologiest becuse of positive ANA can that be because of my MS?
I've heard that fibromyalgia is a much more common diagnosis along with multiple sclerosis. I do know someone that went through the same thing you're going through and fibromyalgia was the diagnosis. Not sure if this helps but this was what came to mind for me
My understanding is ANA is an overall test for autoimmune disease but NOT MS, rheumatologist will order additional blood tests, which could reveal Lupus, but ost likely nothing,
Don’t freak out my rheumatologist said ANA is not a very reliable test
I had a positive test for lupus, and then you have to get another one six weeks later and it was negative. Its an odd one my dad had it. I have recently had another one and its still negative.

By itself, a positive ANA test does not indicate the presence of an autoimmune disease or the need for therapy. Some medications cause a positive ANA. ... This typically signals the presence of antinuclear antibodies in a healthy individual.
Garrin, everyone i know seems to be getting diagnosed with Fibromyalgia lately with or without MS. Pain in shoudler, neck, arms .... = fibromyalgia, IT seems to be the new choice for lazy doctors its getting like the old yuppy flu, or M.E.
