I am 34 weeks pregnant and I’m terrified of having the baby because I was told that there is a high chance of having an episode after delivery. I’m nervous about that because I want to breast feed and I don’t think I can on the treatments...
Also, how do you keep up with your toddlers when they are running around if I can’t run... just nervous about it but also so excited to meet my little guy!!
I had 2 babies since having MS and I did good with the first, had an exacerbation about 6 months later but my son had some issues and within the first month I had one, just fatigue and stressed probably but am blessed!! You can do it!!!
I gave birth to my second son in august of 2017.... the whole pregnancy i felt amazing like i didnt even have MS after giving birth i breastfed and just stopped about a month ago. I was not on DMT’s and still am not on any. My son is now almost 9 months old and i havent had a relapse since giving birth..... I have an appointment with my neurologist on Friday just to have a check in since stopping breastfeeding and see where we go from here. Every body is different and i have realized that the more stressed or anxious i am the worse i feel..... also if i let the stress get the best of me that is when I relapse...... so i have tried really hard not to sweat the small stuff and get plenty of exercise. I wish you all the best with your pregnancy and post pregnancy too!!!
I've had two children since being diagnosed in 1999; the doctors warned of potential for relapse within 9 months after delivery. I too was nervous but also excited to meet my new little ones. I never had a relapse, my disease course remained stable after both births. Granted, there is no way to predict but you should just be aware of the possibility. I was on Avonex and didn't take the medication while I was breast feeding. Don't be too nervous, enjoy the excitement of your impending little one, and don't let this stupid disease rob you of that joy! Take each day one at a time, after all, that is all we are given. Enjoy your little bundle when he arrives and deal with the MS if you have to...you might be worrying for nothing. Prayers for an easy delivery and no MS issues.
Don't worry yourself I know it's hard as I do it myself. I'm 32 weeks pregnant with my first never had any problems or complications only phorasis. 2 weeks ago after complaining of symptoms to my gp I had MRI and they say there changes but hard to say so not actually diagnosed me with ms yet..
While I was pregnant the monster went into remission... thankfully!! I did have a relapse six weeks after for both pregnancies. Breast feeding can keep your hormones high... this is Good?! While your hormones are higher you have a greater chance of not relapsing. I also tried hormone estriol after pregnancy... Canada uses this med for MS. The estriol if u get the right dose helps your body think you still have the pregnancy hormones. Most ppl go into remission while pregnant. I hope this info helps a little bit!! Take care of yourself and congrats 😊👍💟
