I'm having issues with my left eye. Opthamologist says I have cupping, he believes it's associated with glaucoma. I challenged his diagnosis. I then went to see a neuro opthamologist and he said he sees the cupping. He agrees there is pressure in the eye, which is usually associated with glaucoma. Because I have MS he would like to check the pressure in my cranium. He recommends another spinal tap. The Neuro Opthamologist would not confirm anything and would like to see me in 6weeks. I'm scared… read more

@A MyMSTeam Member I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve not been able to get a diagnosis. A diagnosis would help you treat your condition correctly and possibly stop the progression. I get it. I recommend a spinal tap to anyone to close the doubt gap. Those oligoclonal bands in csf is the indicator the Neuro needs to diagnosis MS along with your other symptoms. I’m glad to hear you are still able to walk. I’m learning @ diet, @ exercise and less stress helps.

@A MyMSTeam Member I’m taking latanoprost to lower the pressure in my eyes. Neuro Opthamologist recommended the spinal tap for intracranial pressure. It seems to be common after doing a little research. They are calling it IIH It’s all to much to take in.

Yes, first diagnosis of optic neuritis 1990, I had it again same eye in 2000/2001. Right before the first bout I had Bells Palsy on the left side of my face, optic neuritis right side. I've been suffering with many more symptoms now, flares coming more frequently, lasting longer and leaving damage. I'm 70 years old and still haven't been diagnosed after all these years. I've now seen and Endoctrine Dr., RA Dr. and they have ruled out Lupus, I've had 5 MRI's, spine and brain never had a spinal tap but now I'm planning on doing just that. I need diagnosed before I'm in a wheel chair and I feel like that's the direction I'm heading. I'm frustrated, angry and depressed, very depressed as I see my life as I knew it slipping away, I just want diagnosed so I can get treatment.

I have cupping and ophthalmologist diagnosed me with glaucoma supect. Then I was diagnosed with MS. My 1st attacked was optic neuritis. Ophthalmologist has been following up with me for 2 visits a year for the last 20 years. Eventually I was put on latanoprost to lower eye pressure
The damage from optic neuritis has been remained unchanged.
