Ashley it is 3 day treatment. You Will feel amazing after..maybe some water retention..I am happy for you .it is something to be grateful for. It nipps it in the butt and calms everything down.. system gets quiet.
May get extra hungry so pay attention😉

I received a 5 day infusion of Solumedrol for the 2nd time and I remembered to bring some candies to help with the metallic taste. Werthers hard caramels worked great for me. This time the infusion didn't work as quickly to calm my symptoms but after about 8 days I started to improve. I wish you the best of luck with your treatments. ❤

@A MyMSTeam Member I always need about 50-60 mg to feel energy. 10 mg might not result in energy. Sorry.

Yep when I'm on steroids is the only time I feel like I have normal energy ;)

3 days has less side effects then 5 days. My experience? I gain 15-20 pounds on 5 days no matter what I eat. I do try to avoid sugar for 2 weeks because of the risks. It gives me insomnia then sometimes weird dreams/waking dreams. The dream thing is rare only had 2 waking dreams and ?10? 5 day courses of steroids. It makes me insanely hungry around day 2 or 3 ... like I think about food 24/7 crazy hungry. I keep chanting 'you are not really hungry you just think you are' and try to eat multiple snacks instead of wolfing down 5 meals a day. Along with shutting of your brain's way to register you are full, it raises the acid in your stomach. Nexium for that week helps. I get queasy mid 'infusion' so I suck on mints. Lastly it messed with my period horribly. So ask your Dr for birth control for 2-3 months, take it during the infusion. My first steriod treatment my periods were half as light from then on (I didn't due birth control.) Sounds nice until you are trying for a kid ;)

Oh I forgot to mention moon face (it is a real thing look it up.) Don't panic if you get it, it goes away. Just like that extra weight you will gain, you can loose it after. Just try to eat healthy and don't sweat it to much.

My first steriod 5 day treatment I ate horribly & gained 45 pounds from 5 days infusion & a 2 week taper off. The thing is though I never lost that 40 pounds I didn't care because I got the use of my hands back. (It wasn't all fat I gained it bulked me up muscle wise to.)
