This is happening more frequently, I’ve been having these bouts of forgetting what I walked into a room for but when I stand there for a second I forget everything I mean a total blank like I forget how to walk, talk and who I am. It comes back fairly quickly. But it freaks me out and I start a panic.

Members responded with understanding and validation to someone experiencing frightening episodes of total mental blanks where they briefly forgot who they were, with many confirming this is a well-known MS symptom called cognitive fog or 'cog fog.' Several members shared helpful resources, including YouTube videos by neurologist Aaron Boster, and one member mentioned asking a doctor about Ampyra, a medication that may help improve nerve signal transmission and reduce brain fog for some people. A recurring theme was encouragement not to dismiss these experiences as normal aging, with members in their 40s sharing similar stories and urging others to speak with their neurologist.

Ya know, part of that is age. It's hard to know what causes what.

I did not mean to imply that age was the only cause. Sorry. Hormones can cause it, so with numerous factors it can be hard to sort out. I hope you feel better!

I suffer from MS "cog fog", I did some PT to learn a few tricks to trigger my memory. It's made my daily life around the house and "honey do's" not quite as discouraging
