I live in south central Oklahoma.I filed mine myself and 4 monnths later I got a denial letter.Then I filed a apeal and about 3 months later I got approved.If I got denied again then it would have been lawer time.I have a hard time about giving a lawer 25% of my mondy.

I work in legal. Not disability arena...but attorneys are called "sharks" for a reason. The above comment about what she actaully took home after it was all said and done is true fact!

I filed for disability right after being laid off my last job. I provided copies of all my medical records from the time I first started showing symptoms (was told you "probably" have MS). This was in 1989ish. It was probably overkill, but supplied 20 years of medical records from my primary care physician, MRI's and any records from my neurologist.

I was very blessed that my disability was approved the very first time I applied in 2009.

I know this doesn't help you too much but wanted to tell you my experience.

I was lucky because my work disability provided a layer as I went through the process it was a long ride taking just shy of 24 months remember that they turn down 9 out of 10 people the first with or without s lawyers best thing I can say is your do have better chance with repetition but be prepared to give them most if not all of any back pay you receive the judge gave me more then
usual back pay adding four months to the 2 years that is considered max in most cases when all said and done I only was given 5000 of the 23,000 I received for my back pay it’s a roller coaster ride till the end and very small payments to live on but still a blessing and much better then nothing GOOD LUCK
