Ocrevus is approved in the US for RRMS & PPMS. Outside of the US, other countries continue to ignore that Ocrevus is the only drug approved for treatment of PPMS. The reasoning is not enough benefit for the cost. So right now cost is determining factor of not approving a drug to help PPMS patients.

PamLangman is rrms, has abnormal liver enzymes, has prior immunosuppressant use and is JCV positive. Her doctor calculated her risk of getting PML and gave her a printout explaining the risk to show her family. The highest efficiency medication available in New Zealand she is going to start is tysabri and has been know to cause PML. By posting this question about ocrevus and if it is approved in New Zealand or not we hope someone on this forum will know. Attempting to avoid starting tysabri and finding an alternative is the current goal.

I will pray for you. I've not had any problem with my second one other than the flu like symptoms. But I just had it yesterday so I will be watching for other stuff.

It may be for RRMS. Most other countries outside of US have Ocrevus approved for RRMS but continue to refuse to approve it for PPMS due to cost. Ocrevus is the only drug approved by the FDA for treatment of PPMS in the US.
