Generic lexapro(escitalopram) hell. I was hoping it was side effects making me feel worse before better starting up this antidepressant. I’ve been more depressed, with moments of more anxiety too & insomnia that comes & goes since starting it. Today will be day 5 on 10mg, with a total of 36 on the lexapro all together. I’ve read in other places to hang on, it gets worse before it gets better...I’m starting to think those people are talking about anxiety, not depression. This stinks, I’ve… read more

I too am on generic Effexor and don't have these issues. I started out on Zoloft which I think works fine, too. Try out these two drugs if that one is giving you so much trouble. I still have my low days, but I don't know if it's the MS or the events in my life or both.

@A MyMSTeam Member @A MyMSTeam Member Thank you. I’m tapering off as escitalopram/lexapro. Just as depressed, anxious going back down as was going up...ugh Fear trying another, this was worst experience I’ve ever had with an antidepressant, aside from the worsening depression, etc, I could barely function I was soo tired, cognitively hazy, confused, demotivated. I’ve tried them all over the years except Luvox. Gun shy now. Mind saying what generic Effexor manufacturers you each take? Any side effects you have as well as your experience with Zoloft? The last time I took Zoloft, I think I got up to 150mg & remember feeling too detached, not good, numb, weird & they all make me tired/unmotivated... Hoping doc will script LDN & it will help. Take care

I think we change as we age, what once worked may not work anymore. I'm on a generic effexor and never haff the problems your having. Started on 75mg and raised it every 2 weeks til thre suicidal thoughts were under control. I'm now at 175mg per day. U need to be your own advocate, your the only one that knows how you feel. I personally would say NEXT!
