I've taken this drug for 2 days. Bupropion SR. Aka wellbutrin. Basically to give me morning energy and to help with mild depression and anxiety ever since I had started gilenya and had a MS flare in may thru end of June. I did genetic test showing this drug would help. I had awful insomnia again last night and I was doing great with sleep for the last 2 weeks. She told me to give it a few more days. Ughhh
I'm now more anxious and I feel like in 1 day I went back 2 weeks of progress. I just… read more
@A MyMSTeam Member It’s when you don’t have a fever that it would be a virus, bacterial infection if you do! So, if it were me and I had a fever over 100 degrees (normally run around 97) and was exposed to someone who was sick, I’d get to my PCP pronto or immediate care if I can’t be seen right away; because what you have probably need antibiotics to get over. I also see a possible relapse just waiting to happen if you don’t do anything.
Between all your stress these past couple of months and now this, better to be safe than sorry. Which doctor did you see yesterday? If it was your neurologist, surely she would have noticed you had a fever or did you develop that after you saw her? You definitely shouldn’t mess around with this since your immune system is already weakened by your MS and even more from the medication you take for it. Did you try to go back to work full time or part time to start? I’m just glad you tried to go back.
Since you’re unable to work, do you have a hobby you like doing away from computer or have you thought about starting a hobby to help pass the time or I like spending a couple of hours a day, three times a week volunteering at high school where my husband teaches; it gets me out of house and around other humans who aren’t my family members. What did your son do to himself where he might need surgery? Was he playing a sport or something else, you’ve got my curiosity peaked? I trust he’ll be okay.
If your phlegm is NOT clear, you could have a sinus infection; deep cough, bronchitis, at least for me. Have you had your flu shot? It’s never too early to get one. Who knows, you may even have the flu, I hope not but anything is possible with a fever. Please look into why you have a fever 🤒 okay?
I can’t sleep ....I live in Massachusetts marajuana is legal here it helps me sleep .
Maybe you just needed more meds in your system then? 😉
Deb I left her messages
She knows. She responded.
I will ask her for a reduced dose
I'm also seeing her tomorrow.
@A MyMSTeam Member, I absolutely agree with IntoDust on this, talk to your doctor about getting a lower dose. True, your pharmacist can be very knowledgeable, but your doctor is ultimately responsible if something goes wrong because they wrote the prescription. Remember, unless the pharmacist knows absolutely everything about what’s going on with you, they should be directing you back to the prescribing physician not giving you advise or their opinion if you’re indecisive about what to do. They don’t have the medical degree and expertise a doctor has. There are some pharmacists who mean well and are just trying to help, but I’m sure there are others who would like to prescribe medication if they could, they can sound like they know everything when in fact they don’t.
Especially when starting a new prescription, stick with asking your doctor all the questions or talk to them about possible side effects you may be having and if dosage is correct. Maybe it’s not even the right medication for you to take, but your doctor will never know if you only ask a pharmacist your drug-related questions for a particular prescription.
To me, you could be playing with fire. I visit my PCP often at times when something is going on and sometimes feel bad about it, he reminds me “that’s what I’m here for” which makes me feel better; I know he genuinely cares about me and the state of my health. That’s what makes it so easy to call and ask a question or make an ASAP appointment to see him.
If your doctor, medical assistant or one of the nurses are hard to get ahold of when you call or when you leave a message you don’t hear back from someone same day on urgent matters such as possible side effects, then maybe it’s time to consider finding a new doctor. But if they’re great at getting back to you then why aren’t you calling them in the first place instead of asking a pharmacist when it comes to a prescription you’ve just started taking? This is definitely NOT a time to do any self-medicating.
At least that’s what I would do if this were happening to me. With all the other medications I already take, I have to call my PCP to see what cough medicine I can take that won’t interact with everything else. It’s a pain but I need to do it; I suppose I could ask a pharmacist, but they won’t know all medications I’m taking because they’re not all filled at the same pharmacy.
