I am on Copaxone injections 3 times per week
For osteoporosis I was offered Forteo vs Tymlos
Due to stomach issues i am not a candidate for the oral drugs to treat Osteoporosis.
I have not decided, the rheumatologist i went to see told me its no rush..my concerns and i told him was taking two shots per day on the day Copaxone is due, he told me it can be done.

@ LizColpoys..I went to a rheumatologist, my pcp sent me to this doctor.He has been in practice for more than 25 years, well respected. I maybe going for a second opinion.. I got really anxious when he told me ,yes you can inject yourself with two drugs.., sure i can..but i am very thin & it would be a big challange.. I am not rushing into this daily injection
Im sorry to hear it. My mom has struggled so much with osteoporosis and cant take oral meds. She has not been on any infusions or injectables either. Bad medical care. She is paying the price as multiple fractures and scoliosis have caused much pain. Hope you start something soon!!! That stinks
Good luck with that! I wasn’t getting along well with the Fosamax pills I started in June and wasplanning to talk to my doc about Prolia for me, but for the last 2 weeks, I haven’t had any Fosamax side effects, at least that I know of, so I’ll just carry on, as long as that continues to be how things are here. I hope things with Prolia work out for you; I only know two people who have been on it, and both with good results, one had such great results that after two years, her doc said she dsnt even need meds at all any more!
@A MyMSTeam Member..I was diagnosed with osteopenia many years ago, never thought to treat it..my doctor did ask me if i wanted to treat,anyway it had been 4 years since my last bone density scan..I took for many many years stomach prescription medication and i contributed to making the osteoporosis come out alot sooner.. I have scoliosis with fusion/rod which is a strike againat me. Thank you for your comment.
I am a nurse, 30+ years and now work with insurances/medicare..case manager so i am aware of the necessary documentation..I will work something out with the rheumatologist i went to see who is well respected. I will not inject twice a day, Copaxone gives me alot of skin reactions and i have tried everything.. I just keep on going like always, never miss a beat
Why no Prolia first? That was the only drug for Osteoporosis that my pcprecommended 3-4 years ago.
