I just received a notification in the mail that my prescription coverage for tecfidera may come to an end. Realizing the cost - there would be no way for me to continue. So wondering if Ocrevus is covered with Medicare under the SSDI. As it is administered at a hospital facility to one as a patient.

This insurance crap is killing me. Oh yeah and as we look forward - MS is a Pre-Existing condition so gosh knows where and how it will be affected in the near future.

U can always contact the maker of the medication and may get medication free or with a low co-pay...thats how I pay for my Tecfidera...I pay 7.95 a mt for it..

Biogen helps me pay for my Tecfidera. Otherwise I would not be able to afford it at $8K/month. (Side note: Interesting that it only costs $400/month in India!) Keep trying to get it covered - if Biogen can't help directly (I'd be very surprised, they were very helpful with me and the process was super easy), also ask your Neurologist about other financial assistance options. They told me a couple of different places that unfortunately I can't recall since Biogen ended up taking care of it for me. Good luck to you!!! XX

Yes call Biogen. If Tecfidera works for you, that s awesome because it's taken Orally. Thus cheaper then the 'other' newer med IV.
Best wishes, good luck.

I have MS since 1996 and on SSDI and then on Medicare since 1998. Medlcare does cover ocrevus @ 80% under part B .Then my retiree insurance cover the balance. After that I paid $143.00 and then satisfied the out of pocket.
When I turn 65 years old next year, my retiree coverage is pushing to get me medicare advantage when I am 65. I don't know no if they cover if they will consider ocrevus under Part b or medicare part D and out patient hospital bill of $ 2400.00
