Hello, my name is Karyn and i am not officially diagnosed yet and i had a question that i cant find the answer to. I have so far had a brain mri that showed one lesion, and quite a few pin pricks. My neurologist is not very helpful, and has said it was something i could have been born with. I have had symptoms for the past 3 years ranging from exhaustion, cognitive problems relating to finding the right words, headaches, painful spasms and twitching. The worst of my symptoms is in my legs, they… read more
Hello, thank you for your reply. I did get my primary doctor to give me a referral for a cervical spine mri and that is scheduled for Tuesday. We are looking into getting a second opinion but have to go through hoops to get it approved as my husband is military. We have no ms specialists where i live but we are trying to be approved to go to the Denver ms center to see what they say.
Thank you for the information. My neurologist called me today and said the spinal tap was normal therefor i definitely do not have ms. I will be seeking a second opinion after my cervical spine mri on tuesday.
It sounds like perhaps you need a different neuro. This one doesn’t sound very thorough or empathetic. I was undiagnosed for 20+ years, and my MRI’s (which was how I was finally diagnosed) showed MANY more lesions in my cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine than what showed up on my brain. My neuro’s description was that it “lit up like a Christmas tree” with contrast. I’d strongly recommend you get a second opinion, preferably from an MS specialist neurologist. Best of luck!
I have heard about that, that part that i don't really understand is why is my spinal considered normal when i had 3 o bands and none in the serum. He didn't want to answer any of my questions when i asked about it. I understand that it might not be ms as i don't have 4 or more, but something must be going on.
There actually are some with negative 0 bands who still have ms... Not as common but do
Does anyone have bppv vertigo and multiple sclerosis vertigo? Has anyone tried acupuncture for this?
