None of the bladder treatments or meds have worked for me. What was done and how did you respond to it?

@A MyMSTeam Member I have bladder issues and was on medication many years ago. Since then, I have learned how to manage my bladder issues.
I have mild:

• Frequency and/or Urgency of urination
• Rarely: Hesitancy in starting urination
• Frequent nighttime urination (nocturia)
• Incontinence (the inability to hold in urine)
• Retention (Inability to empty the bladder completely)

Some of my management solutions:
• Poise Pads
• "Double (Triple, etc) Voiding"
• Drinking more water

I had the bladder sling placed 10 years ago after my 2nd child was born. I had severe stress incontinence. This was long before MS was mentioned by any doctors, even though i was also experiencing severe vertigo at the same time. Anyways, thr surgery worked great up until 5 months ago when i started having urgency, frequncy and painful spasms, worsened by emptying. These symptoms are NOT consistent with interstitial cystitis (IC), although the only thing that has helped at all is atarax at bedtime, which is a third line treatment for IC. Doesnt take away completely but it helps. Detrol did not help. Azol did not help. Maybe my sling is failing, but my symptoms are not consistent with mesh erosion either (vaginal or pelvic pain, bleeding, painful intercourse). Im having a cystoscopy in a couple of weeks and hope to get more answers. Im going to post this as a wuestion too because i would live to hear other peoples bladder synptom experineces.

Interesting! The double-voiding link made me think of the squatty potty commercials!

If you haven't seen them, you are in for a real treat! 🤣

I have a friend who got one and told me years ago that it really helped her with constipation. I've always remembered that and can say that the angle does really make a difference (I don't have a squatty potty, but just try to make sure my body is tilted at their suggested angle). I do have some urinary issues at night after I've taken my CBD/THC. I'm just so relaxed that my flow is slower and I think I'm done sometimes when there's more. Making sure I'm at that "optimal angle" does really help. Otherwise, I'm back in the potty an hour later! Thanks for sharing! XX
