Do you mean Devic's diseade? If so, I have it. Otherwise known as NMO.
@A MyMSTeam Member Please update us when you get the results of your antibody tests. I too have many frontal lobe lesions but no spinal lesions. I tested negative for NMO, but I believe it has a false negative rate of around 30%.
From what I’ve read in the past, it sounded as though the brain lesions in NMO tended to follow a distinct pattern and align themselves around the lateral and third ventricle of the brain, following what is called aquoporin channels which are filled with CSF.
This article contests that idea:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC43...
“However, brain abnormalities also occurred in areas where AQP4 expression is not particularly high.12 Although nonspecific small dots and patches of hyperintensity in subcortical and deep white matter on T2-weighted or fluid-attenuated inversion recovery sequences are the most common findings in NMOSD, certain lesions have a location or appearance characteristic for NMOSD.”
Can't it mess people up if they dx ms but it's actually devics?
I dont have Devic. I just read up on Devic just now & it is very interesting.
I have headaches all the time. My eyesight is getting worse...my prescription glasses are getting stronger.
