Members shared a range of views on whether big pharma deserves blame for the challenges of living with MS, sparked by a shared article on the topic. Several members expressed frustration over high drug costs, with one noting that Ocrevus runs about $100,000 per year in the US while costing far less in other countries, and others feeling that doctors are too influenced by pharmaceutical companies. A recurring theme was that blame is complicated, with many members choosing to focus on gratitude for existing treatments while still pushing for more affordable and accessible solutions.

I thought the article was great. I’m appreciative of big pharma - without them, we wouldn’t have the drug options we have now. I’m not with the conspiracy theorists who believe that the drug companies already have a cure for cancer and other diseases like MS but don’t want to lose out on profits. One day, there will be a cure and it will come from the drug companies most likely. Probably not in my lifetime though. I’m 53.

I read the article. We are born with this disease. It does no good to Blame anyone. I still have to live with this disease.

YES!! just my opinion, they know our problems but don't consider the fact we no not have a lot of money, but the only care about their bank balance.

Good article. When I saw a neurologist this past week, when I said I am now on Ocrevus. He just said, "that's about $100,000 per year"

Yes mam we can blame big pharma! They don't do the things they can do to help us! I don't want a bandaid I want a solution.
Stem cell therapy shouldn't be that costly if using our own fat. There are more people coming down with MS every year. Where do you see an MS clinics (and I'm not talking pain management- that's a joke)? specialists don't care unless you're doing what they say. Its like they have blinders on.
There are things to test for in MS patients that most neurologists don't test for.
Why? Because it could make us better!
Drs are trained by big pharma to dose out their drugs that most only cause worse side effects than the benefit!
B-P knows exactly what they are doing and if you do need something that's out of the scope of what pharma has taught these Drs, "good luck".
They won't prescribe it unless they have their name on the bonuss! And why do these drugs cost so much? Because B-P is a money racket!
