Has anyone been diagnosed without lesions or have them come at a later point after the symptoms? If so what were your symptoms initially?

Sounds like CIS, clinically isolated syndrome. It's not a dx of MS, it's just saying there are neurological symptoms consistent with a neurological disorder. The disease modifying drugs would not be of use because without lesions which the drug is designed to stop from occurring is not present and misdx is always possible. Neurologists are supposed to follow McDonald's criteria to make a dx of MS.

had never heard of that...is your diagnosis based on symptoms only or have you had a spinal tap too?

No. My diagnosis was based on number of lesions during a certain time frame. And if the lesions were active, I believe. Initial symptoms tingling in both legs for weeks.

I hear it varies from person to person. I myself have yet to be fully diagnosed. But so far my main symptom is numbness in my arms. I thought for sure I was dealing with a pinched nerve until the MRI came back with deterioration on my myelin sheath.
I am not sure if I have lesions or not but the only way they will find out is probably a brain mri. I have started to connect other things that I feel may have to do with Ms but really it's just more of a waiting / guessing game.
