I have never had a full relapse. I've only had transient episodes (24 hours or less). For me, it is what I eat, weather (too hot, too cold), stress (usually work), amount of sleep, and travel that can bring on an episode. Rest and good low-inflammatory food helps.

Extreme heat, not enough sleep, stress and either infections or viral diseases (colds, flu) all exasperate my symptoms.

Most importantly @A MyMSTeam Member, you must learn the difference between an actual relapse and a pseudo-relapse. A true relapse will have new or severe worsening of symptoms lasting over 24-48 hours.

A pseudo-relapse can be caused by illness, surgery, overheating, stress, etc. These are worsening of your current symptoms but resolve on their own without any treatment once the illness, stress, etc. is gone. MOST "relapses" are actually pseudo-relapses. Keep calm, cool down, rest, etc.
