I'm still able to work.
Hello, unfortunately you won't be able to apply if you're still working. You have to be able to prove that you are no longer able to in order for you to receive SSDI. And even when you do apply it can be a long process if you don't have another income. Good Luck
Hi Ebrown - i have the same issues (fatigue and cognitive issues) that preclude me from working. Oh, there is the wonky eyesight, too. I am very curious to see how you disability claim progresses. SS requires claimants to be out of work for at least five months before filing, and I will be filing in May. I am going through an attorney. I suggest that if you are not going through an attorney to find one who does just disability. I recall the fees are capped at the lower of 30% or $6000. Please post on your progress. Good luck.
@A MyMSTeam Member it helps to stop working before you applying for SSDI. You may want to talk to a disability attorney to discover your options. I used a lawyer and got approved but I pushed working until it was clear I couldn't and don't regret making that decision at all. I thought about taking SSDI for a short time before trying for it.
You're not eligible while you can still work.
