I don't know if this is MS related or not but curious if anyone has experienced it or not. I have suffered for going on 2 years with symptoms similar to Plantar fasciitis in both of my feet, except it's transitory and not exactly in the right spot. I get sensations of my feet falling asleep / tingling, etc as well but this is EVERY day and very painful. Particularly after sleeping or sitting for a length of time. It makes walking normally difficult so I know my gait is affected by it. My… read more

Have you tried a chiropractor and massage therapist? I have painful feet, which leads to painful legs, hips and back. The chiropractor has given me some relief and the massage can help with all over muscle problems. Of course this is helpful if your problem is muscular and not completely from nerve damage. Painful feet is the worst as it affects everything upward. Think of it like a big tree...if the root system is not healthy, it affects the entire tree; trunk, bark, limbs and leaves. Good luck. Never stop asking questions and searching for answers. It's YOUR health, your body and YOUR MS. All of us here can offer suggestions and ideas. Even though we all have a diagnosis of MS, we are all suffering differently. 💛
I have plantar fasciitis and it’s definitely painful. I use orthotics and it’s somewhat helpful. My issue that has stumped the neurologist is the entire top of my feet ache and burn. It’s worse when I walk a lot but it’s there even if I’m resting. I’ve had nerve conduction studies and they were “normal” but then the doc says there’s no way to test the micro nerves.... So, anyone else have weird painful feet and ankles?
I had both bunions and hammer toes on both feet operated on over the past year (July & November) and had my final appointment with my podiatrist in early June (last month). My toes are still a little numb, but they are really 100% better now that they are aligned properly.
So, I've been walking a lot more the past few weeks. But I know my gait is off as I've felt like my legs are weak, spastic and unsteady at times. (Waiting for the results of my annual MRI to see if there are any new lesions.)
Unfortunately, my foot hurts in the morning -- not where it used to hurt (ball of foot or toes) but my left heel has a very sharp pain when I step out of bed. It takes an hour or so of moving slowly and stretching to make it go away. I finally had enough and saw my doc this morning.
Turns out I have plantar fasciitis in my left foot. He gave me a shot, told me to replace my running shoes (they are a few years old) wear my orthotics and with NSAIDS and rest, it should heal. Fingers (and toes!) crossed this, too, shall pass.
I was told I had Raynauds in my hands and feet. My feet are normally numb and then I will have toes that are killing. Pains move around but lots of pain in ankles toes and where toes join the feet. Pain in feet is so different from the spasms and back pains. I was told to keep checking for sores which the Raynauds cause.
