Genetics has a lot to do with. I am the only one with MS . But several members on my dad's side of the family as well as my mom side of the family have different times of autoimmune issues as tipe 1 Diabetics and reumathoid arthritis. I was diagnosed first as Lupus .
My niece had a skin rash & when she went to doctor last year she was diagnosed with Lupus. So I guess autoimmune diseases may be genetics & hereditary. 😲
I am the only one who has MS, though I have two first cousins with Lupus.
I don’t have any relatives or at least ones I know about that have MS or any other neurological issues. I dunno though, my neurologist says what causes MS is like a black box that no one knows exactly what causes it and new findings are coming up all the time.
My mom had neurological issues, so it's possible she had something similar.
