Just wondering if a leg brace would help.. my left leg has drop foot and when I walk to much my leg hyper extends, which tires me out. I’m ok if I rest for a few minutes but I can’t geek sitting all the time I need some excercise to keep strengthening my muscles. Just asking what everyone else does.
Definitely get with your doctor then into physical therapy then ask about a carbon fiber AFO for your lower leg. I don't get anything for this plug but check out www.themsgym.com and investigate leg exercises aimed at strengthening your leg. I joined the MS gym and have been pleased with my results
I recently changed braces. For years, I had a leg giving out problem. For the past 3 months or so, my left knee hyperextends to a severe degree. Apparently most people that hyperextend, do so only 1 to 2 inches. My left knee hyperextends 7 to 10 inches. My therapist was worried that I will start damaging my knees so an orthotist made me braces that don't allow such a dangerous amount of extension.
I use it very inexpensive device from Amazon that straps to your leg with Velcro straps and fits inside your shoe that keeps your foot elevated when you walk.
I have a brace on my right keg. It has helped me with my drop foot as far as hyper
extends, I have that sometimes. As I remember when I was in PT it was something that we
worked on and it wasn't something that the brace corrected automatically. The brace works well for drop foot no fall for me, When you first get it you need to start with a couple of hours and increase from there. If I sit too long in mine like on a long car ride It gets very painful,
My fault, My brace end under the knee, I also need mine because my ankle likes to turn my foot sideways so coming down on it that way is dangerous.
There might other ones that help with the Hyper extension

The MSGym has specific videos directed to PT for foot drop - among other things. When I had PT with the doctor, the insurance paid for 8 visits a week apart. I didn't find that super helpful. With the MS Gym I just run a 30 minute video daily and work on my specialized problems. Good luck.
