Hi everyone. Its coming up near to the time for my second dose of lemtrada. My doctor has given me a choice to have it or switch to rituximab as the new risks associated with lemtrada terrify me. I need to make a decision pretty soon. Can anybody tell me how they are getting on with rituxan and what are the risks/side effects? Thank u x

I have been on Rituxan for almost 2 years, I agree with the previous statement about having to pre and that you feel like dirt the day after but the next day is great. I get infusions every 4 months and have 2 treatments 2 weeks apart with them. I can't make it the 6 months between for ocrevous but Rituxan has showed that it can put things at a stand still in my progression of my disease.

What I worry about is you have to watch for complications for many years after treatment. Most people are fine but if you are one that has them it sounds awful. There are groups on Facebook you can follow and see about side effects people have experienced or not had. Very informative. Just type in Lemtrada.

Rituxan is the previous Ocrevus, so you should look that up also.

Personally, Ritux/Ritimab/Rituxan/I don't care what you choose to call it because it works for me works well for me. The only warning I'd give you is sit close to the bathroom when you get the infusion.. A "bag" of the drug is infused into your vein and the addition of that much liquid does a number on my bladder but, other than that, I've had no side effects. I know I got lucky but it's possible that you experience no or few side effects. You'll probably feel like dirt the day after the infusion but then....OMG.
