My understanding is that inner ear vertigo is rooted in a problem with the inner ear vs. MS vertigo which is caused by lesions in a certain part of the brain. The root cause is different. I'm not sure if they feel different or not.

Interesting enough, I had a bought of MS vertigo 11 years before I was diagnosed with MS. Yes it was horrible and yes it lasted a long time. I was eventually treated by an ENT with special therapy and it lasted until last year. The doctors found a small tumor on the nerves leading to the inner ear. So far it's being watched. My new vertigo episodes are short (about a week) so I guess we shall see. I was only diagnosed with MS in February of 2020.

Sorry, my first neurologist told me MS was 6 to 12 weeks of weirdness. And after 24 years, I've found him to be pretty correct.

I've had Vertigo. The wierd thing for me was in only my right eye. If I covered my right eye, things stopped spinning. Oh! And being MS, it lasted a couple of months. Are you sure you've had vertigo? For me vertigo caused by ms is room is spinning around me. Once I thought my chair was tumbling over. It was so bad I feel out of my chair. Vertigo is horrible. When it gets bad you cannot function. You get so dizzy you can't stand and usually you get very nauseous.
