This is a daily concern of mine and I’m wondering if anyone has been diagnosed and recovered

We had a regional multi practice q&a covid call here in DC. At the end of the day our risk of contracting or surviving Covid is no different then the geneneral population. In fact, because we take anti inflamtory medicine while there isn’t a scientic study, it may actually help us should we contract Covid. The main thing is to remember to wear your mask and if someone else isn’t, maintain 6 feet of distance and wash your hands! Most of if not all of their patients are now recieving their treatments as they were prior to Covid. In the beginning so much was unknown but they now feel the risks assiciated with stopping your treatment far outweighs not taking it because of Covid. They’ve not had any Covid related issues because of people continuing their treatment.

This call put my mind at ease and I hope this information helps all of you. Wear your mask, wash your hands, follow your Dr’s orders. We will get passed this #MS-Strong!

Dr. Ben Thrower at the Shepherd Center has a great video on this.

I always take elderberry syrup that I make. It’s been clinically proven to be as effective as antibiotics. It always boosts my immune system if I’ve got the sniffles.

@A MyMSTeam Member, i think we cannot live in fear. We need to take care of ourselves as if our life and our new normal depends on it because it does.
We have MS, so it means that meds or not our immune system is already compromised and not working as should be , so we are part of the high risk population just because of MS alone and that risk increases if we have other issues like asthma or obesity or other health problems.
The best is avoid as much as possible the risk of getting infected and ask YOUR doctors what you should do. Your doctors know better than any of us what is your particular health status ans how your medication interacts with your body, your MS and your life style.

I was also told by doctors not to get the flu vaccine because i have MS and it could put me at risk of developing Gillian Barre syndrome

Two of my kids had covid and I got tested and did not get it!! I also took the antibodies test but tested negative as well?!? I had prolonged exposure to both of them and I remember one drinking after me!! How can one explain that? I have been on Tecfidera since 2012 🤷‍♀️
