None of the goals were met in the 3rd study, so no benefit was shown in those studies, and the big negative of Biotin is that it produces false scores in blood lab tests which affects information about heart and thyroid conditions. I take it daily. Max dose. 10,000mcg. My medicare advantage plan lets me spend $25.00 a month to shop at CVS. It is supposed to nurish your cells.. biotin is a part of the vitamin B.
Im one who feels if any meds make me feel worse then I did before taking it I quit...I don't want to feel worse! Plus Im not wanting to pay 5 grand...whether its out of my pocket or medicare...just ridiculous how expensive drug have gotten...
I have SPMS also and lead a fairly active life. I'm going to be 56 soon and have taken 500 mg of Biotin since 2014. My friend also SPMS was part of the clinical trial of the 30,000 mg. She is doing absolutely marvelous at 77 years old.
Approximately 1 year ago my Neurologist wanted me to try 300mg daily of compounded Biotin. After 2 months I did not feel a difference and it also disrupted my bathroom habits.
