P.S. friends, Teammates! Within the past month. The NMSS and others have published or posted about this—-The studies of High Dose Biotin for progressive MS treatment, including for SPMS were stopped! None of the goals were met in the 3rd study, so no benefit was shown in those studies, and the big negative of Biotin is that it produces false scores in blood lab tests which affects information about heart and thyroid conditions. Members shared mixed experiences with high-dose Biotin for progressive MS after clinical trials were halted due to no proven benefit for remyelination or walking improvement. Several members noted they tried the 300mg daily dose or lower over-the-counter amounts, with most reporting no noticeable MS improvement, though some observed better hair and nail growth as a side effect. A recurring theme was caution about the high cost, the interference Biotin can cause with blood lab results, and the importance of weighing personal experience against the lack of clinical evidence.

I take it daily. Max dose. 10,000mcg. My medicare advantage plan lets me spend $25.00 a month to shop at CVS. It is supposed to nurish your cells.. biotin is a part of the vitamin B.

I have SPMS also and lead a fairly active life. I'm going to be 56 soon and have taken 500 mg of Biotin since 2014. My friend also SPMS was part of the clinical trial of the 30,000 mg. She is doing absolutely marvelous at 77 years old.

Approximately 1 year ago my Neurologist wanted me to try 300mg daily of compounded Biotin. After 2 months I did not feel a difference and it also disrupted my bathroom habits.
