I'm a PT. Agree with many of the other posts. She should get a brace if she doesn't already have one. Trying the stimulator would be a great idea. As far as the sciatica--if its seems to start from the butt its probably from a tight piriformis muscle that crosses over the sciatic nerve in that area. Stretching would help greatly. She could try PT or possibly google piriformis stretches. Also try icing right over the butt area. Ice inhibits muscle spasms and may loosen the muscle and relieve the pressure on the sciatic nerve.

(Also the piriformis could be tight from the way she is walking because of the drop foot. It could all be connected and she needs a good PT consult for gait training, and probably strengthening exercise in her legs to correct everything properly)

Yvonne please contact your Neuro dr. You can get help by the Dr giving you a script for an AFO. Also PT to learn some stretching. Be safe

My PT had me get, because i was dragging my foot. It came with attachments for 4 more shoes. Its comfortable. It attaches to the shoe where you start to lace up your shoe & straps to the back of the leg. I can attach it to 4 more pair of shoes.

Inability to lift the front part of the foot

Drop foot is a nasty little one, as this causes your toes to catch on flooring/carpets/steps etc, and can be responsible for many falls
