I am considering to adapt my cooking and eating habits according to this diet. I’d love to hear thoughts and suggestions.
The Wahls protocol does have some interesting suggestions, change to a more plant based diet, try to eat more fruits and veggies, but make sure you really listen to what she says. Following the diet should make you feel better, even if you only follow the protocol 80%of the time, but diet is only part of the plan. Eliminating some meds could benefit you but know she never stopped her DMT. Watching what you eat is much more important post diagnosis but isn't the only thing to combat MS.
Absolutely right. Vegies and fruit. Lean meat. Stay away from sugar and alcohol and cigarettes. Hard to do RIGHT ??
No sorry. I have just cut back on what I'm eating. Have added boost at times. Along with trying to cut back on sweets and eat healthier.
Definitely any & all 80%+ plant-based diets help us tremendously, especially when done in conjunction with an elimination diet to identify our unique trigger foods. Changing diet and lifestyle habits has had a huge positive impact on my health so I definitely say go for it! Only thing I dislike is the heavy supplementation. My DR at Stanford (who incidentally also has MS) highly prefers food as medicine bc of how our body processes it, and only suggests D3 supplementation for us. Her approach has saved me TONS of money in addition to helping me improve my long-term trajectory with MS. She's a regular guest on my MS.UNDERSTOOD podcast if you want to hear her talk best diet components for MS - there are several episodes with her talking exclusively about nutrition, but others about other lifestyle interventions as well. All the best to you on this endeavor! 🧡
Wonder diets make a lot of money for the authors - just eat healthy and exercise
